💧 Water Filtration and Circulation
How many hours a day should the pool pump run?
In general, filtration should run for a number of hours equal to about half the water temperature. For example, with water at 28°C, about 14 hours of daily filtration are recommended.
When should you turn on the pool filtration?
It is advisable to run the system during the day, especially in the hottest hours, when the sun promotes the growth of algae and bacteria.
When should you backwash the filter?
Backwashing should be done when the filter pressure increases by about 0.3–0.5 bar compared to the initial value, or when you notice a decrease in water flow rate.
🧪 Water Parameter Check
How often should you check the pool pH?
During the swimming season it is recommended to check the pH at least twice a week. In case of heavy use or high temperatures, checks can also be done daily.
What is the ideal pool pH value?
The optimal value is between 7.2 and 7.4. In this range the disinfectant works at maximum effectiveness and swimmers’ comfort is ensured.
How to lower the pool pH?
To lower the pH, use a specific pH Minus reducer, carefully following the doses indicated by the manufacturer.
How to raise the pool pH?
If the pH is below 7.2, you need to use a pH Plus increaser to bring the water back to the ideal range.
Why doesn’t chlorine work even if the value is correct?
Often the problem is caused by a pH that is too high. When the pH exceeds 7.6, chlorine effectiveness can drop drastically.
🌊 Chlorine and Water Treatments
How often should a shock chlorination be done?
Generally every 2–4 weeks during the summer season and always after storms, heavy pool use, or the appearance of cloudy water.
Is it possible to swim right after adding chlorine?
After a normal chlorine top-up, you can generally swim after a few hours. After a shock chlorination, it is advisable to wait at least 12–24 hours and check that the levels have returned to normal.
When should algaecide be used?
Algaecide should be used as a preventive treatment once a week and after particularly intense weather events.

Why does pool water turn green?
Green water is almost always caused by algae growth due to insufficient disinfection, incorrect pH, poor filtration, or high temperatures.
How to remove algae from the pool?
You need to do a shock chlorination, add a specific algaecide, brush walls and floor, and keep filtration running for at least 24 hours.
What to do if pool water is cloudy?
Check pH and sanitizer, perform a shock chlorination if needed, and use a flocculant to improve filtration of suspended particles.
How to keep pool water crystal clear?
To keep water always clear, it’s essential to maintain correct chemical levels, ensure proper filtration, regularly backwash the filter, and use professional products for pool maintenance.
⚖️ Chlorine or Salt Pool
Is a chlorine or salt pool better?
Both systems ensure excellent disinfection. A salt pool offers more comfort for skin and eyes, while a chlorine one requires a lower initial investment.
How much salt is needed in an electrolysis pool?
It depends on the electrolyzer model, but generally the ideal concentration ranges between 3 and 6 grams of salt per liter of water.

Filter glass traps smaller particles, needs fewer backwashes, lasts longer, and ensures better water quality than sand.
